I met this amazing looking woman in Santa Fe while I was there teaching. Weathered by the atmosphere, happy, and talkative, she was perfectly framed by the stucco wall and the incredibly blue sky. This head and shoulders had to have those wonderful hands and cigarette to nail that personality. The pastel was done on 20x16 Ampersand board. But I couldn't resist working with her again on a 36x24 oil as a full length figure.
