Acrylic on canvas. A portrait wherein I wanted to express the detailed texture such as the poncho and hair that flowed in afternoon light as best as possible, and so chose to use acrylic that dries fast so that I could quickly paint multiple layers for the effects needed. Of course the rapid color mixing before palette dried was the biggest challenge. Stone background was chosen for cold/warm and color/textural contrasts.
