An Eagles View
A long six-mile hike in a rain, snow and sleet storm from the Idaho side of the "Bridger Teton Wilderness" I stopped at "Tablerock Mountain" to this view of the "Grand Teton." That evening, I roughed in the mountain through the intermittent rain, clouds and sleet. expecting the storm to clear in the next morning. The night was spent in a sleeping bag in one of the worst lightning storms I've experienced. The morning did not disappoint. After the storm cleared, I painted en plein air, in oils to capture the lifting clouds and morning light as the storm cleared. I spent the whole day in the changing light trying to accurately capture the Grand Tetons ridges and rock patterns. Hiking out I was fortune enough to capture an eagle flying beneath me that I quickly dropped into the painting. Thus, the title, "An Eagles View".
