Shantung Street
While the well known adage, “Less is More” and “Simplify” come through like a mantra in modern day art lessons, sometimes, “More is Just More.” Case in point, when trying to convey the cacophony that is the street shopping of downtown Hong Kong, all the senses become alert. The loud and persistent honking, the pungent smells, and the assault on the eyes that include neon blinking lights and the chaos of color from the wares flapping in the breeze make our faculties want to explode from overload. In choosing to paint this scene, I knew I needed to reveal every minute detail that made this craziness what it is.
