Rowan Berries and Crystal Carafe
Still Life composition using my "Split Light" visual and painting concept. In developing my "Split Light” concept I tried to imagine highlights of objects, all lighted and shadowed surfaces, shadows, reflected lights and surroundings of objects – as a stream of light split into rainbow colors. So, the painted object itself (or composition of objects, genre painting, landscape etc., it does not matter) is an image of solid realistic substance surrounded by light and shadow areas that may be split into rainbow colors behaving differently on surfaces of the object, on its highlights, reflections and in every inch of the painting in accordance with optic laws. This approach allows to reveal the effect of sparkling, charge the subject with impression of vibrancy, movement, distraction from static immobility.
