Fresh November Snow

There's a beautiful lake with a great hiking trail in the mountains near where I live in Bend, and it's popular with the plein air painters in the area, too. On the way into the parking lot for this area, you pass the view that's shown here in this painting. It's partially blocked by trees, and I think I can safely say that the majority of people heading to the lake and hiking trail don't even notice it. But I personally think it's one of the most stunning views in the Central Oregon mountains. Besides the initial study I used for this painting, I've painted this view a couple of other times (without snow). I still have yet to paint the lake or the views from the trail around it.
