The Tack Room Light

This drawing is from early one morning at Music Meadows Ranch, near Westcliff Colorado. The woman in the drawing is Madelyn Steele, she is the Ranch Manager in charge if the cattle operations there. The tack room is in an old log barn that has been there for a very long time, and has such an old time charm to it, it feels as if you stepped back in time. That morning as she was getting ready to head out, she had stopped to check to see if everything was good with the bridle she was going to use that day. The dusty sunlight coming through the old window shining on her as she was contemplating the day to come, was picture that needed to be captured. These are the moments I love to paint and draw.
