Creekside with Sycamores is an imagined scene heavily influenced by the the true-life features of the land here in northwest Arkansas. All of my art begins with foraging for pigments. I work with the very soul of the Earth: ocher rich stones, lightfast plants, and charred bone or recovered soot for my earthy colors. The colors in this painting were all gathered from near my home in the Ozarks, except for the titanium, which I purchase.
