I spend a lot of time in our local Southern California backcountry. This image came about during a cattle round up, I was struck by the beauty of the land, how it kept going with undulating hills as far as the eye could see.
I captured the image a couple of years ago as a photograph, and, as I am learning to paint, I used it in a pleasant elongated landscape format, that seemed to lend itself to the great, wide expanse.
