At the time of death in an accident of Kobe Bryant and his daughter Giana, I found myself at the El Encanto Hotel in Santa Barbara, looking out over the city, thinking about them. Two eucalyptus trees reached toward the heavens above my head. In their memory , and as a tribute to this inspirational father-daughter team, I painted this piece, and named it after the piano work that Kobe taught himself, to play for his wife.
