Birds of a Feather - Headgear

Based on photos I took of various birds in residence at the Artis zoo in Amsterdam. I was interested in how, though both the same animal type, there is so much diversity in shape, size, color, functionality, expression, specialization and the juxtaposition created by pairing seemingly unlikely sets together. In this case while both the peacock and the cassowary are blue I was more interested the "decorative" head pieces they both display. In addition, the delicate and demure appearance of the peacock against the truculent and chaotic appearance of the cassowary felt comical.
