Dappled Eternity
This may appear to be an ordinary forest trail, but the context is much more interesting. The Versailles Gardens in France is mostly a highly designed space - but you can rent bikes and go miles deep and off into random trails within the forest. That's where I discovered this trail - away from tourists and free from the rigid landscape design of the front gardens.

This piece was done with a mixed media technique that includes a graphite pencil layer, majority watercolor, and highlights with gouache and pastel - made on Arches Cold Press Watercolor paper. To bring some nostalgia into the piece I wanted to mimic the effects of film lomography, where negatives are intentionally damaged to create a surface veneer of colorful texture. I achieved this with the top layer of gouache and pastel.
